Pfaffendorf is located in the middle of the Saxon Switzerland, above the left side of the Elbe-river in the area of the so called  "Stones"  (Pfaffenstein,  Papststein,  Lilienstein, Festung Königstein, etc.)  It is an excellent starting point for  a lot of interesting trips. Either you walk trough  the great  nature  of  our landscape or you climb in the stones or you do only enjoy the great outlooks you can find everywhere.

Because it is only 40 km away from Dresden, you can reach in short time the historical center by car or train. You can do this also  by ship  along the great Elbe-valley.
If you are going to the opposite direction you are soon on the border to the Chech republik, one of the new EU members. After about 70 km you are getting to the famous "Golden Town" Prague.
